BRING AN OFFERING

•May 14, 2007 • 1 Comment

Psalm 96:8
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.

God never takes but always gives. He is the Giver of life and everything in all creation. His Word commands us to BRING an offering into His court. The Bible teaches us to first offer our lives as a living sacrifice to Him and His purpose. Such offering of sacrifice is not dead; full of life & energy.

Romans 12:1
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Such offering should also be brought with purpose and intention to glorify God. God expects our lives as offerings nothing more nothing less. When we come to Him with whatever offerings, remember that God wants our lives first and foremost, not our talents, gifts or money.

As we are offering our Unidus pledge this week, I pray that we will together BRING an offering of our lives to the Lord. It is a privilege for us to be able to praise & worship God in a different way through our offering to build His house.
Let us take some time this week to pray and ponder before the Lord about how we can be a part of this year’s Unidus, I Can Make a Difference. You and I can truly make a difference by offering our lives to God and allow Him to bless our offerings for His plan & purpose.

Remember it’s equal sacrifice and great privilege we can co-share.

Have a great week ahead.

LIVING A LIFE OF COMMITTMENT

•April 30, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Commitment is truly essential for those who desire to please God. God looks for the heart of commitment in His people whom He can count on to make a difference for Him.

9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

ARE YOU COMMITTED TO GOD?

That is an important question to ask. It already started when we said ‘yes’ to receive Jesus into our hearts. Though salvation is a free gift, it requires our commitment to live it out. Commitment is precious and rare in today’s world. In God’s sight, it is extremely important!
Ablaze desires to see every single believer committed to living for Christ. Often we say that it is great to have a lot of people with us now but what matters more is how many will be there in the end times during persecutions and tribulations! Building committed disciples of Jesus Christ is our goal in ministry. The disciples who are fully committed to the Lord, Jesus Christ, His church and the cause He has set out for us.
Let us commit ourselves wholeheartedly to Jesus and the church in which He has placed us. Once we are fully committed ourselves to the Lord, we shall surely begin to see His blessings and goodness poured out upon our lives.

31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:31-34

I pray that even during the busiest time, we will NOT forget God and place Him lower than other priorities we have. Coming to God’s house and seeking His face is NOT something to be missed! Let us NOT just seek His hand but His face. Let us NOT commit ourselves to Him and His church ONLY when it is convenient.
Remember CONVENIENCE is one of the greatest enemies to our COMMITMENT!
Commit this week of yours to the Lord and you shall see the miraculous!

See you at church this Friday.

Love in Christ,

Torchie
